TCB.black · Founder & Chief Disruptor: Ebony Flint
Some of the most important work in a community isn't the loudest. A Tribe Called Black (TCB) knows this well.
TCB is a growing community that lifts up the voices of people who are too often unseen and underserved, through alternative ways of learning, healing, and co-creating brave spaces. On November 14 at Knights, Crowns & Community, For One Child Foundation is proud to recognize A Tribe Called Black as a 2026 Mission Champion.
"This means so much to the organization," says Founder and Chief Disruptor Ebony Flint, "to be recognized for the things that we do that aren't always as loud as others."

Whole Selves, Everywhere
TCB centers Black and Brown people of all ages, wherever they are. It was created to address intergenerational emotional wellness and alternative ways of healing.
Its mission is joyfully direct: people who take part in TCB programs learn to be comfortable showing up in the world as their whole selves, "everywhere and all the time! We are dope!"

Healing That Keeps Going
One program shows the depth of TCB's impact: Queens Healing Queens. It meant so much to participants that even when Ebony couldn't make it, the women stepped in to keep the group going on their own.
"The name says it all," she says.
Opening Digital Doors
TCB is especially proud of its partnership with Tech Goes Home, which has put more than 400 Chromebooks into the hands of people across Massachusetts.
That work is how TCB first connected with For One Child: by offering Chromebooks to graduates of the Foundation's summer program, in collaboration with The WellStorm, Inc., so students could leave with the tools to keep learning.
"We answered the call because we believe in accessibility for all," Ebony says, "and access to technology, in these days, is a part of it."
Why Collaboration Matters
To TCB, meaningful collaboration means "being intentional and present with the folks we are trying to serve, help, and support. It means choosing to collaborate with others on purpose, to meet goals that really can't be accomplished alone."
"Working alone is hard and draining. Everyone needs support. Everyone needs a tribe." — Ebony Flint, Founder & Chief Disruptor, A Tribe Called Black

What's Next
TCB has programming for all ages coming this spring, including another round of Queens Healing Queens. The organization is also looking for interns and volunteers to help with its website and social media.
